The challenge
This year, the JPL Invention Challenge was to move 8 liters of water from a reservoir into a bucket 16 feet away as fast as possible while satisfying many rules, such as no pumps allowed or no more than 2 liters of water can be travelling upwards at a single time.
Our approach
Its design featured an Archimedes screw.
Documented results
- At JPL, Still Water was able to achieve 1st place, moving the 8 liters in just 6.45 seconds.
- 2 out of our 3 Team 867 groups qualified for the Finals.
